Quilted Daffodil Table Runner - 3 Sizes!
Spring is when the weather warms up, flowers start to bloom and that wonderful feeling of breezy happiness seems to float around us. Inspiration seems to be found everywhere. After seeing these lovely daffodils in a pot, I just had to make a matching table runner. I had just started planning this table runner when I got a lovely email from Carmen, asking if I would be doing a daffodil appliqué table runner for Easter. This table runner is quilted and each section is made in the hoop. The daffodil flower block centres are all done in appliqué. I have separated the petals of the daffodil into two sections so that two shades of yellow fabric can be used to give the flower some depth. The centre of the daffodils use a darker shade of yellow fabric. The edging pieces of each block is done in sections using the “sew & flip” method. It is similar to foundation piecing only it is adapted for machine embroidery. This gives precise placement of the fabrics and joining them together in the hoop. The pieces that make up the daffodil block and first stitched out and quilted on the embroidery machine. They are then joined together with a sewing machine to complete each block. The blocks are then joined and a border and backing are added using a sewing machine. The designs come in 3 sizes: 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7. The approximate finished measurements of this table runner is: - 5x5 Design: 33” x 9.75” - 6x6 Design: 38” x 11” - 7x7 Design: 45” x 12.75 The instructions and yardage given are for this table runner. Additional fabric will be required should you decide to make it bigger. See PDF below for sizes and details.
