The reindeer doll softie is fun and simple to make! It is stitched entirely by hand, using a whip stitch around the felt edges and a stem stitch for the mouth. The reindeer body-head-ears-antlers-arms-legs are all together in one pattern shape – they are not attached separately which can be time consuming and difficult. The finished reindeer is 7 1/2” tall x 4 1/2” across. The samples are made from scraps of wool blend felt (acrylic felt can be used but wool or wool blend will be more durable). Safety eyes are used for samples – other options for the eyes are to make them using embroidery, paint or felt. Enlarge or reduce diagram/patterns to make the reindeer different sizes. Attach a ribbon or embroidery floss hanger to center top of reindeer’s head and it will make a really cute Christmas ornament.
