Bailey the bear is fun and simple to make! Bailey is stitched entirely by hand, using a whip stitch around the felt edges and a straight stitch for the muzzle line. Only three pattern shapes are used to make the bear. The bear body-head-ears-arms-legs are all together in one pattern shape – they are not attached separately which can be time consuming and difficult. The finished bear is 6 1/2” tall x 5” across. Bailey is made from scraps of wool felt (acrylic felt can be used but wool or wool blend will be more durable). Enlarge or reduce diagrams/patterns to make Bailey different sizes. Safety eyes are used for sample bears – other options for the eyes are to make them using embroidery, paint or felt.
This five page PDF e-pattern includes full size patterns to make Bailey with or without the muzzle; a materials list; detailed instructions written in English; and clear step-by-step photos.
